LARRY MASON WINS PACIFIC COAST RUNOFFS!

Fontana, CA – Larry Mason in the Auto Diagnostic Services Team LMR Formula Mazda won the 2017 Pacific Coast Road Racing Championship (Pacific Coast Runoffs) from pole position (in FM) on Sunday October 29th at Auto Club Speedway in Fontana, CA. At the start he was passed by two other FM cars and a number of other class cars in the mixed group of racing. He was able to re-gain those positions to get back in the lead in his class and finished second overall behind a Formula Atlantic car. It was a dominating performance and he also turned his fastest lap of the weekend during the race. This is Mason's first Pacific Coast Runoffs Championship and this also clinched the 2017 SCCA Regional and Divisional Championships. This race weekend also counts towards the 2018 season and therefore he is already leading the points there too.

“I thought that I had a pretty good start – until I was passed by all those cars on the oval,” said a very happy Mason. “I was able to get the job done cleanly and I’m thrilled to have won my first PCR. We were second the last time I raced here (in 2015). We had a lot of support from numerous friends who came out to the track and I really appreciate that. This victory was especially awesome after narrowly missing the podium at Indianapolis last month. We took this challenge on with one goal, and that goal was realized today. Thanks to my wife Sonia who took time off from her schoolwork to support me and to Tom and Stella from Auto Diagnostic Services. Everyone has worked really hard to get to this point and I’m glad that I could deliver a performance they could be proud of!”
